The chanting by the lost children down in the query, Hugh Jackman playing Blackbeard viciously laughing as he breaks into the chorus, balancing over the edge of the ship - definitely a moment. Some fans enjoyed the powerful cinematic moment - others hated it, feeling it was too removed from the original spirit of the song.
Going back to our original question - if it wasn't part of the original script, how did it end-up in the movie? The story goes that the cast was on a 'Pirate retreat' getting into character, during which the original "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana came up on the radio and they spontaneously started singing it together.
